October 2nd, 2016, Arsenal’s dramatic late victory at Turf Moor was the courtesy of controversial goal from Koscienly. The last minute goal moved Arsenal up to the 3rd place. Arsenal has been in pretty good form since the first loss with Liverpool. This is the fifth consecutive victory in Premier League and recorded their seventh win in their last eight games. This week has been good for Arsenal as compare to other contenders in the league. Manchester United draw and Man City loss has made Arsenal move up quickly to the 3rd place and has made a probable contender to out past teams to be in the first position.
Initially it looked like Arsenal would settle for a point, until Koscienly squeezed the ball from a cross by Alexis Sanchez.
We showed patience and maturity, Arsene Wenger said.
The game was pretty much in Arsenals favor but Arsenal wasn’t able to capitalize on the possession until at very last minute of extra time. Arsenal with 64% possession in the first period were attacking but were finding hard to get the net against their committed host, Burnley.
Alexis was lively as always. There were few mis-passes or mis placement from Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla. It came down to last 2 minutes when all the crowd were on the edge of the curiously watching to see if arsenal gives the first lead. The ball was on burnley side of the ground, and Arsenal was making fail attempts to score until a loop from Alexis from right corner got hold of Santi touching Koscienly hand(unintentional) into the goal post.
Arsenal won the game somehow making Wenger a happy boss on his anniversary.
Man of the match was given to Shkodran Mustafi.
