With four teams evenly poised at the top of the table, it was a crucial game with Sunderland at Stadium of light. Arsenal was pretty disappointed with last week game with Middlesborough to not be able to clinch a victory with so many missed chances.
Alexis stunning header from a cross by Chamberlain gave a 1 – 0 lead to the Gunners. Arsenal did have their chances before the Chilian hero got Arsenal the lead. Ozil and Coquelin missed their opportunities. Jermain Defoe equalized on a penalty, a foul by Peter Cech but a bummer from a defender, which yielded in a yellow card. Arsenal responded quickly to take the lead again with Olivier Giroud goal at the 71st minute. Right after the goal, a header from Giroud on 76 minute finds the net to leave Sunderland two goals behind.
It was the end of the game when Alexis got the fourth one from a close range. The game was a display of a great teamwork, strength, and exquisite finishing. This win puts Arsenal to the second sharing the point with Man City.
At the end of this week, the top four are evenly poised to be at the top of the table.
